Harnessing advanced water-based training to optimise horse performance, recovery and long-term success.
Purpose-Built for Elite Horse Training, Conditioning and Recovery
Seawalker® is far more than an equine water walker – it’s a transformative tool for equine performance enhancement and post-work recovery. Seawalker® is designed to meet the demands of elite, busy, equestrian environments.
The Seawalker®system uses chilled salt water and variable depth control (300mm–1200mm) to provide structured, progressive exercise. Horses work without a rider, whilst maintaining neutral spine alignment, a relaxed frame and an active core. Whether used for early training, daily conditioning, workload variety, post-work cool down, rehabilitation or for broodmares, Seawalker® consistently delivers results.
Training: Horse Conditioning That Goes Deeper
Horses trained in Seawalker® benefit from highly effective cross-training. At any depth, the chilled salt water provides natural resistance, encouraging horses to exaggerate their stride, engage abdominal muscles and improve balance.
- Strengthens muscles - topline, abdominals and hindquarters
- Enhances core stability and self-carriage
- Develops proprioception and stride length
- Builds stamina and aerobic capacity riderless, in a stress-free environment
Horses remain in contact with the ground at all times, maintain a normal respiratory pattern and relaxed mindset throughout their session.
Recovery & Rehabilitation: Control and Confidence
- Effective for tendon, ligament and soft-tissue rehabilitation
- Suits horses with sacroiliac issues or sore backs
- Reduces distal limb oedema
- Shortens recovery timelines with gentle, full-body movement
- All horses exercise without riders or tack
Seawalker® allows vets and physiotherapists to integrate structured aquatic sessions early in equine rehabilitation regimes.
Breeding & Broodmares: Strength from the Core
Mares carrying foals benefit from deep core engagement and abdominal strengthening effects of exercise in Seawalker®. The low-impact environment supports musculoskeletal health without ridden work.
Youngstock, Stallions & Sensitive Types
The support of the salted water in Seawalker® means the exercise can:
- Channel excitable horses or those with nervous energy
- Low impact activity - supports natural bone and tendon development in young horses
- Maintain muscle tone and condition in working stallions
Calm, Consistent, Repeatable
- Up to 8 horses per session
- Suitable for pre-work warm-up and post-work cool-down
- Ideal alternative to lunging or working on hard, unstable or heavy ground
